As large as her ego undoubtedly is, Catherine Zeta-Jones could not have imagined that she would one day have an airport named after her.
Mandrake hears, however, that hers is one of a number of names being considered for a "rebranded" Cardiff International.
Others in the frame include Gareth Edwards, Dame Shirley Bassey and the late Richard Burton. “We’ve just started looking at our brand and doing some research, and the name is part of that,” says a spokesman for the 60-year-old hub, which was originally Rhoose airport.
Jason Gill, the account director with the Cardiff-based advertising agency Peter Gill Associates, says: “It’s vital to get the right name. When you look at Liverpool John Lennon airport — formerly known as Speke — it’s worked so well because he was known throughout the world and there was a lot of affection for him with the Beatles.

Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones says she's agreed to act as patron of the Swansea Life Film Festival, which takes place in her native Swansea.
"I am proud to be part of the Swansea Life Film Festival. It provides a great opportunity for the city and a showcase for local talent," the Oscar-winning "Chicago" star told the Western Mail newspaper by phone.
"I feel the possibilities are endless as it gives local talent both in front and behind the camera the chance to express themselves creatively. The festival also, more importantly, gives local talent the opportunity to show their work in an international arena."
Movies by 267 independent filmmakers are to be screened for free at the Dylan Thomas Center during the festival's run from May 31 to June 7.
"While long established festivals such as Cannes, Toronto and Sundance get a lot of publicity, they've become almost too famous for their own good in terms of providing a platform for talented new filmmakers," Peter Morris, chairman of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Los Angeles, told the newspaper. "Festivals such as Swansea provide much more a level playing field for up-and-comers to showcase their films."

Come January 2009 and India will see two-time Oscar winner Michael Douglas come here to start shooting his first Indo-US joint venture, Racing the Monsoon . This is a sequel to the biggest hit of 1984, Romancing the Stone , and the lacklustre Jewel of the Nile (1985).
Touted as an action adventure revolving around a diamond robbery in India, Racing the Monsoon will also feature Douglas’ wife, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Matt Damon.
This could reportedly be the first film post-marriage where both are paired together. They had earlier starred in Traffic (Jan 2001) post-marriage, but were not pitted together.
